Social Networking Sites

Today in the internet era everybody seems to be involved in some sort of social networking. Social networking sites are places in internet where people create accounts in a view to connect and share things with their friends, family, colleagues and mates. There are numerous social sites nowadays each with different functionality and use. Of them Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and LinkedIn are few to name. These sites are compared and the functionality of Twitter is studied in this paper. To me Facebook is a versatile platform whereas Myspace, Twitter, LinkedIn all are specialized sites. The functionality of Facebook outnumbers those of the others largely. It might be a reason why Facebook has much more users than other social networking sites. you went school with whereas Twitter is said to be the site that connects the persons you wishes to go school with. On the other hand, LinkedIn said to be the site that connects people who go office with you. Facebook seems to me a site to be connected with family and friends; Twitter is a site to let people know about your thinking, Myspace is more or less a media site whereas LinkedIn is a business and professional oriented site. All of them facilitate connecting people from real life.
